[Packager] Export Point track (Maya)
Design
User story
The animator animated some simple riggs (non deformed geometry) in maya and wants to export it for lighting or compositing
Expected result
Two options:
- A single null with animation baked that can be used as a parent for the asset ([Asset]_01_POS)
- A null per mesh with animation baked that can be used as a parent for each mesh in an asset ([Asset]_[MeshName]_PTT) In both case this should be an FBX with the proper frame range and that should be readable by modo and nuke
Scenario
- Animator selects asset to export
- Bip knows if it should export a CACHE, A single null or A null per mesh
- Bip export the FBX
- In modo we can import the animation on the asset in the scene manager (using the import animation task)
- In nuke we can import the fbx using nuke tool
Interrogation
Should we export all nulls under one FBX so its easily readable by nuke and so we can load the "scene animation" in on go rather then loading each FBX one by one?
Tasks
-
Implement Maya pointtrack exporter script -
Integrate result in the Packager app -
Add pointtrack content type support to the Package Manager
